Where are my manuscripts stored?
On your device, in plain Markdown backed by a local database. Your writing works fully offline and never leaves your device unless you choose to enable Google Drive backup.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No. Pellucid works completely offline with no account and no sign-up. Google Drive backup is entirely optional.
What does Google Drive backup access?
Only a dedicated "Pellucid Vault" folder that Pellucid creates in your own Drive. It cannot see, read, or touch any of your other Google Drive files. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How does version history work?
Pellucid keeps versioned snapshots of your manuscript so you can restore an earlier draft at any time — both locally and, if you enable it, from your Google Drive.
How do I reveal the interface?
Pellucid's "Whisper UI" keeps controls at a whisper until you need them. Hover over or focus any element to bring it to full opacity, or use keyboard shortcuts to summon panels.
Does Pellucid collect my data?
No. Pellucid shows no ads and includes no tracking or analytics. See the Privacy Policy.
Which platforms is Pellucid on?
macOS, Windows, iOS, iPadOS, Android, and Linux.
